Cherokee Nation Tribal Council Member E.O. Smith, Jr., center, made a donation to Gore Public Schools of $4,000 last week. The money will be divided between various school extracurricular programs. Programs that will receive $500 each include, the high school boys and girls basketball, softball, baseball, cheer, and miscellaneous account for student needs, and the football program will receive $1,000. Smith is shown presenting the check to Gore Public Schools Superintendent Lucky McCrary, right, along with Gore Board of Education President Bradford Montgomery, left. School officials said they appreciate everything Councilman Smith and the Cherokee Nation has done to support students, teachers and county schools.
