Vian Fire Chief Keith Boshers said firefighters with the Vian Fire Department were dispatched to 4430 Road, just east of Vian town limits, last Wednesday afternoon for a structure fire. Boshers said a homeowner was reportedly burning trash when he caught a neighboring residence on fire. Boshers said firefighters arrived to find the neighboring residence, which was reportedly abandoned, fully engulfed but they were able to contain the blaze rather quickly considering the dry weather conditions at the time.
