Firefighters with Blackgum, Rural Fire Protection Dist. 1 and West Tenkiller responded to a house fire on Thursday night on US-SH 82, across from McQuicks store on Blackgum Mountain. The homeowner, Donald Tramell, was reportedly able to keep the fire somewhat under control until firefighters arrived. According to firefighters at the scene, the house had some damage but was saved. Pafford EMS did check the homeowner for smoke inhalation and said he seemed to be okay. SHERIFF LARRY LANE
