Vian Police Chief Daniel New received a check for $11,000 on behalf of the department from the Cherokee Nation last week. Presenting the check were Cherokee Nation Tribal Representatives E.O. Smith (Dist. 5) and Daryl Legg (Dist. 6). “We’re just glad for the police departments and their willingness to help us. We’re also glad the administration chose to do this,” Smith said.
