Sequoyah County Commissioners conducted their regular business Monday which included agreements with private property owners for road maintenance and related work, appropriations and other items on the agenda.
Approved was an agreement to work on private property by and between Devin Guthrie of Vian and Sequoyah County District 2 for improvements to be made due to water flooding a road.
Approved on contingency of the district attorney’s approval was a similar agreement by and between Johnny Price, also of Vian, and Sequoyah County District 2.
A resolution of surplus for a 2003 Ford Econoline and a Dodge Caravan to be transferred to MC Nutrition was approved contingent on the DA’s approval.
Another item approved involved a resolution for recommended changes by the State Auditor’s Office in certain compensation procedures required by the Fair Labor Standards Act, Sequoyah County Election Board. According to commissioners, the Internal Revenue Service recommends changes in the state reimbursements for volunteers who are paid mileage, “a standard procedure” accordingly.
New business included an approval of transfer of appropriations of $3,200 from maintenance and operations and travel to the Election Board part-time help.
Another item approved was a request for a private cemetery by the Hughart Family to be named “Angel Heart Cemetery.”
All monthly reports and blanket purchase orders were also approved.
