Grace
By Pastor Kenneth Byrd Round Mountain Community Church,

Part 4

We have been touching on the different aspect of Gods mar velous grace to us who believe. We touched on sanct ifying grace last time. Let’s look at the subject a little more this time.

Sanctify= To set apart for a particular use or purpose. (A holy use.) Sanctification= When God and you together take your life and His

Vian Church of Christ

Pastor Jerry Waters SUNDAY Morning Service–10:30am No Evening Service Sequoyah & Thornton St. Vian influencing you in a certain direction.

It’s by grace through faith. It’s us working together. Him influencing us and us responding. He wants us to be set apart for a specific purpose. Specific use. I’m not to have those old attitudes I used to have, old way of thinking and speaking. I’m being set apart for a Holy purpose.

The grace of God doesn’t teach us to live however we want because of the cleansing blood of Jesus. No, He’s empowering us to live a sanctified life thru the blood of Jesus. It’s His power in us. God’s grace directs us, but it also teaches us how to do it.

Grace is never divine permission to do wrong, grace is divine empowerment to do right.

You could say God’s DNA in us. 1 John 3:2 “Beloved now are we the sons (children) of God.” We inherit our physical genes from our parents, but when were born again we inherit Gods nature in our spirits.

DNA is a molecule in each of the trillion cells in our body and each strand of DNA contains the blueprint or genetic instructions that enable our body to live, develop and function. When we were conceived, we received our genetic makeup from our parents. As we grew and

developed physically the traits and characteristics that were in our DNA became apparent. This is exciting when you think of it spiritually speaking.

Jesus said God is a spirit. He also said that which is born of flesh is flesh, but that which is born of spirit is spirit. So physically we received our DNA from our parents, but spiritually our human spirit has been born of God. So, as we grow and develop spiritually we will express more and more of His nature and character that was placed in us in the new birth. God empowering us to live a sanctified, overcoming life!
