Sallisaw – Funeral services for Carolyn (Martin) Massa, 76, of Sallisaw, were at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2023, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was at Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Massa was born on Sept. 29, 1946, in Sallisaw to Tommy James Martin and Beatrice (Risenhoover) Martin. She died on Friday, May 5, 2023, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was a homemaker. She married Rufus Massa on Aug. 18, 1982, in Fort Smith. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2018.
Survivors include two daughters, Polly Simpson and Lisa Evans, both of Sallisaw; three sons, James McLinn and Brian Hollis, both of Muldrow, and Tommy Simpson of Sallisaw; one sister, Peggy Martin of Sallisaw; two brothers, Ronnie Martin and Danny Martin, both of Sallisaw; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Martin; and a grandchild.
Pallbearers were John McLinn, Wesley Evans, Daniel Evans, Kendall Marley, Trenton Martin and Justin Martin.
