Gore – Memorial services for Norma Jean “Jeannie” Cawhorn, 78, of Gore, were at 2 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2023, at Gore United Methodist Church.
Cremation was under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cawhorn was born on Nov. 10, 1944, in Tulsa to John Gordon Riley and Rube Geneva (Johnston) Riley. She died on Monday, May 8, 2023, in Muskogee.
She was a teacher’s aide, secretary and treasurer for Gore Public Schools and a member of Gore United Methodist Church.
She married Harold Brooks Cawhorn Sr. on March 7, 1963, in Gore. He preceded her in death on March 12, 1986.
Survivors include two daughters, Janee Michelle Cope of Vian and Julie Henning of Muskogee; two sons, Brooks Cawhorn of Fort Smith, Ark., and Jeff Cawhorn of Sallisaw; 10 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joel Ryan Cawhorn; and one brother, Michael Riley.
