Gore – Funeral services for J.T. Summerlin, 82, of Gore, were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Gore.
Burial was at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Gibson under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Summerlin was born on Jan. 5, 1941, in Siloam Springs, Ark., to G.W. Summerlin and Oma (Mannon) Smith. He died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in Gore.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, worked at the Methodist Boys Ranch and retired from Tenkiller State Park after 27 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed bluegrass music and was an original member of the Cookson Hills Cowboys.
Survivors include two daughters, Bertie and Danny Emerson of Vian and Tina and Kelly Hickelheim of Gore; two sons, J.T. and Dennette Summerlin of Shawnee and Jimmy and Becky Summerlin of Vian; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers were Steve Carter, Darrell Brown, Bobby Brown, Jake Crum, Tanner Bare and J’Driell Easley.
