Texas A&M-Kingsville baseball player Nick Wolff, who has ties to Sequoyah County, has garnered several postseason baseball honors.
Klein, a junior catcher, was named to the third team of the Division II Conference Commissioners Association’s 2023 Baseball All-America Team.
Wolff was previously named first team All-South Central Region by the organization, as well as making the NCBWA and ABCA/ Rawlings All-Region squads. Additionally, he was an NCBWA Preseason All-American and a two-time Lone Star Conference firstteam selection.
The honor comes after a season in which he recorded a .406 batting average with 143 atbats and 40 starts behind the plate. He dented the plate 44 times in 2023, knocking in 52 runs and launching 13 home runs. Wolff walked 19 times and held an OPS of 1.234 during the 2023 season, in which the Javelinas went 26-26.
Wolff is the grandson of Brenda Martin and the late Mel Martin of Sallisaw and the son of Russell and Raegan Wolff of Spring, Texas. The Martins were longtime educators for Sallisaw Public Schools. Raegan is a Sallisaw High School graduate.
