Sallisaw – Services for Karen Faye Powell, 64, of Sallisaw, were held at 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at 809 S. Elm St., in Sallisaw.
Cremation was under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Powell was born on May 11, 1959, in Porterville, Calif., to Jim Wilson and Carolyn (Tabor) Southern. She died on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, in Tulsa.
She worked in construction and motel security. She married Billie Swearingen on Jan. 5, 2006, in St. Andrews, Fla.
Survivors include her wife, Billie of the home; one daughter, Lacy Short of Sallisaw; stepdaughter, Hannah Adams of Bonifay, Fla.; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Darren Wilson.
