We could say the Thomas kind of faith and mental agreement are twins.
Both will show them selves 7 the prescircum-stances happens.
When Paul was shipwrecked on the way to Rome and all hope was gone that the men of that ship would be saved, during those seemingly hopeless circumstances Paul said something profound. First, he admonished them, “Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.”
Then he preached an encouraging word, “And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship. For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, fear not, Paul: thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all of them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that is shall be even as it has been told me.” He was telling them despite the raging storm around them he believed the word the angel brought from God. And he expected them to believe also.
Our bible is just as true as that word from the angel. So, we can use the words of the bible, and declare them with as much belief as Paul when he stated with confidence “wherefore sirs, I believe God that it shall be even as it was told me” into any situation we face in this world. And expect the same results Paul got.
It’s easy to discern that Paul was not a mental agreement kind of guy. Or a Thomas, must see to believe, kind of believer. Paul relied totally on God and got God results!
