TULSA — Oral Roberts center fielder Jonah Cox and closer Cade Denton continue to rack up the accolades as the duo was named first team All-Americans by Perfect Game and the American Baseball Coaches Association/ Rawlings. The All-America honors mark the fourth of the season for the Golden Eagle duo.
Cox leads the nation in hits with 110 and enjoyed a 47-game hit streak, which was tied for the third-longest streak in NCAA history. The junior has registered a hit in 62 of the 63 contests going in to the 2023 College World Series and leads ORU with a .420 average. In addition to his impressive hit total, Cox has logged 11 homers, 16 doubles, eight triples, 28 stolen bases and 67 runs batted in.
Denton, the Summit League Pitcher of the Year, is currently tied for the national lead in saves with 15, matching the program single-season record, and holds a 1.85 earned-run average in 58.1 innings of work going into the CWS. In 33 appearances, the junior has struck out 78 and logged 25 scoreless appearances. In his career, Denton is only the fourth player in program history with 20-plus career saves (22).
