The Town of Gore convened a regular meeting on July 11 at the Gore Municipal Complex, where they discussed several significant matters, including approving fiscal reports, hiring an auditor and deliberating on employment issues.
In a move to ensure transparency and accountability in the town’s financial matters, the trustees voted unanimously to hire Robert St. Pierre, C.P.A., P.C. for the 2022-23 Fiscal Year Audit.
Another crucial decision taken was the approval of the Town Trustee Handbook and Resolution 0-1-2023-1. Both line items were passed unanimously by the board.
The board also approved the MC Nutrition Agreement Lease.
The meeting saw some contention when it came to the appointment of Richard Henry Stoltman to the Gore Volunteer Fire Department. Mayor Robin Henry made a motion to not approve Stoltman to the department, with all other trustees voting in favor of not approving Stolt- man to the department.
The trustees went into an executive session to discuss the employment, appointment, promotion, discipline, or resignation of Daniel Lawson and matters related to evaluations and raises.
After reconvening, the trustees voted to approve hiring Lawson as a full-time employee and to approve evaluations and raises.
