Hooper wanted on warrants
Local police are asking for the public’s help in apprehending a Vian man wanted on felony warrants.
“Vian Police Department does not typically make it a point to call people out or name drop. However, we’ve been flooded with calls and reports of this individual in recents days and weeks, concerning criminal activity,” Vian Police Chief Mark Harkins said.
Authorities are searching for Brett D. Hooper, 29, who is reportedly wanted on felony warrants out of the Cherokee Nation totaling $27,500.
“However, the warrant is also an application to revoke his suspended sentence,” Harkins said.
Harkins said Hooper is also wanted on warrants with extradition from Sebastian County, Ark. revoking his previous sentence, and felony breaking and entering, totaling over $5,000.
“We have also reached out to Mr. Hooper’s family to have him do the right thing and surrender without incident,” Harkins said, “but he has chosen to not take this option.”
Harkins said anyone caught assisting Hooper in avoiding capture could be subject to criminal prosecution as well.
“We are merely asking for the public’s help in apprehending Mr. Hooper and if anyone has contact with him, to convince him to turn himself in to put this matter behind him, as it will not go away and our relentless pursuit will not stop until he’s apprehended,” Harkins said.
Anyone with any information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 918-705-1180.
