Vian – Funeral services for Marvin J.L. Parker, 93, of Vian, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, at Blackgum Harvestime Church. Burial will be at Macedonia Cemetery in Uniontown, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Parker was born on July 12, 1930, in Flint, Mich., to Marvin Parker and Hazel (Kemp) Parker. He died on Monday, July 31, 2023, in Vian.
He was a retired minister and contractor. He married Verbal Nell Petty on June 5, 1949, in Farmersville, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Verball Parker of the home; two daughters, Sharon and Morgan Fugate of Vian and Terri Parker; one son, Steven and Debra Parker of Vian; six grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Stanley Parker; and one sister, Louise “Susie” Scott.
