Sallisaw – Graveside services for Stan Philpot, 69, of Sallisaw, were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2023, at Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home. A dinner and Celebration of Life were held at Brushy Lake Pavilion following graveside services.
Mr. Philpot was born on May 25, 1954, in Sallisaw to Norman Philpot and Martha (Dyer) Philpot. He died on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023, in Tulsa.
He was a park ranger, Sequoyah County Sheriff deputy and a patrolman for the City of Sallisaw.
He married Renee Bese on March 10, 2007, in Sallisaw.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Philpot of the home; two daughters, Teresa and Paul Poindexter and Britney Philpot, all of Sallisaw; two sons, Chris and Rose Mosby of Sallisaw and Bubba and Suzette Philpot of Roland; two sisters, Norm Philpot of Sallisaw and Jenny Martin of Florida; four brothers, Gary Philpot and Johnny Philpot, both of Sallisaw, Jerry Paul Brown of California and Bill Philpot of Spiro; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Brenda Philpot; and one son, Stanley Earl “Tuffy” Philpot.
