Two Sallisaw residents had to be transported to a Tulsa hospital for treatment of their injuries following a motorcycle crash on Saturday, 17 miles south of Tahlequah.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred around 1:49 p.m. on County Road East 863, just 0.1 mile west of County Road S. 590 when a 2007 Yamaha XVS 1300 Motorcycle, driven by Jerry Ross, 38, failed to negotiate a left curve.
The motorcycle was traveling westbound and veered off the roadway, colliding with a ditch.
Ross was accompanied by his passenger, Tatum Ross, 43, also from Sallisaw. Both individuals were transported to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa by Cherokee Nation EMS, where they were admitted in stable condition. Both sustained head and neck injuries. The cause of the collision was attributed to unsafe speed while negotiating a curve or turn.
