E. Dianne Hughes Schmille

E. Dianne (Hughes) Schmille, 83, died on Sunday, August 6, 2023, in Vian. She was born on Oct. 14, 1939, in Troy, Kan. to Isaac Earl and Beatrice (Hamm) Hughes.

There is no funeral service scheduled at this time.

She was a registered nurse and spent most of her career working the emergency room in St. Joseph, Mo. She loved to cook, sew, play the piano and organ.

Survivors include her daughters, Kristen O’Meara (Shon) of St. Joseph and Amanda Varnell (Johnny) of Sallisaw; 11 grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa (Schmille) Boyer; son, Terry Schmille; sisters, Phyllis Ramsel and Beverly Hughes; and brothers, Bill and Dwain Hughes.
