The Vian Lady Wolverines enjoyed a perfect 5-0 week last week, which was capped with an 11-0 road win Friday afternoon over the Central Lady Tigers.

Prior to that, the Lady Wolverines had a pair of walk-off wins.

Hanna Mattingly’s walk-off, two-run home run win propelled the Lady Wolverines to a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over the Eufaula Lady Ironheads on Thursday.

The Lady Wolverines got their first walk-off win of the week on Aug. 15 to down the visiting Spiro Lady Bulldogs 3-2.

The Lady Wolverines started the week Aug. 14 with a pair of road wins, 15-4 over host Heavener and 10-2 over Cameron.

In the victory over Spiro, Gibbins hit a lead-off solo home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Mattingly’s one-out RBI double in the first inning and Gibbins’ two-out RBI single in the second inning put Vian ahead 2-0, only to see Spiro tie the game at 2-all with two runs in the third inning.

In the win over the host Lady Wolves, the Lady Wolves scored once in the first inning and three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.

After Heavener cut its deficit to 4-2 after two innings, Vian put away the game with a six-run third inning for a 10-2 lead. A five-run sixth inning put the game into run-rule status.

For the contest, Maisie Wells was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Mattingly was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Russell was 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and two runs scored, Gibbins was 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-3 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs scored and Skyelar Locust tripled and scored three runs for Vian.
