The Gore Lady Pirates suffered two losses last week. They lost 16-6 to Roland on Aug. 22 in Roland, then fell at home Friday to Keys (Park Hill) by a score of 13-1.
In the loss to Roland, the Lady Rangers (6-5) broke a 6-all tie with a 10-run fourth inning to put the game into runrule status. In defeat, Natalie Casteel was 2-for-2, Kendra Huckbay was 2-for-2 with a run scored and River Shoemake doubled with an RBI for the Lady Pirates (2-11). Cheyenne Davidson took the loss.
Friday afternoon in Gore, the Lady Cougars scored twice in the first inning, four runs in the second inning and twice in the third inning for an 8-0 lead.
The Lady Pirates scored their lone run in the fourth inning on a bases-loaded walk to Emily Daily, scoring Casteel.
Keys (Park Hill) put the game into run-rule status with a five-run sixth inning. Pitcher Maddie Hamby no-hit Gore.
Davidson took the loss, going the first 4.1 innings with three strikeouts. Huckbay got the final two outs, one of which was by strikeout.
