It was a rough week for the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors as they ended the week with a 5-1 road loss to Warner on Thursday after they started off the week with a 14-2 home loss to Keota on Aug. 21.
In the loss to Keota, the visiting Lady Lions were on a roar early as they scored four runs in the opening inning, then added two runs in the second inning and a run in the third inning for a 7-0 lead.
The Lady Warriors (1-6) scored their first run in the third inning on Bridgette Baer’s RBI groundout, scoring Teralynn Colston, to cut the deficit to 7-1.
After Keota upped its advantage to 8-1 after four innings, Webbers Falls scored its final run in the fifth inning as Colston scored when the Lady Lions recorded the out at first on a dropped third strike to make it 8-2, but the Lady Warriors got no closer.
In defeat, Colston’s single was the lone hit for the Lady Warriors. Maddy Raskey took the loss.
There was nothing more reported on the Warner game as of press time.
