Every Wednesday night at Simple Simon’s Pizza in Sallisaw, community members meet to study the Bible, pray together, and enjoy a pizza dinner. The Bible study, hosted by the Sallisaw Seventh-day Adventist Church, is open to everyone and is currently studying the book of Jeremiah. This month, on Wednesday, Sept. 6, the group will be celebrating two years of weekly meetings at the pizzeria.
For the anniversary celebration, special guests from Sabbath Keepers Motorcycle Ministry will share about their ministry of taking the gospel of Jesus to the motorcycle community.
“This group is largely ignored because a lot of people feel that being biker equates to being lost, but we don’t believe that,” says Rick Thames of the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the motorcycle ministry. “We feel that everyone has the opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior until their last breath.”
The weekly Bible study group has become a place where people can deepen their faith and make new friends.
“This has become family to me,” says community member Ray Maxwell. “It gives me something to look forward to each week.”
The Bible study anniversary celebration will begin with free pizza at 6 p.m. on Sept. 6, followed by study and presentations at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
