The Vian Wolverines not only returned to their winning ways Friday night at St. John Stadium, but they did so emphatically as they routed the Warner Eagles 48-13 in the District 2A-5 opener.
The Wolverines (2-2 overall, 1-0 in district play) scored the game’s first two touchdowns in the opening quarter en route to a 21-7 lead going into the second quarter.
The Wolverines took control of the game in the next two quarters as they scored 14 points in the second period and 13 points in the third quarter to take a 48-7 lead into the fourth period.
For the game, Masyn Wright had a hat trick on touchdowns with three, while Draighton Fletcher and Jacob Brannick each had two TDs.
