Vian Public Schools will be participating in the National Walk & Roll to School Day on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
Isaac Barnoskie, Public Health Educator for Cherokee Nation Public Health at Redbird Smith Health Center, said those participating in Vian’s event (including parents/ guardians) are asked to meet at at 7:30 a.m. at the Simple Simon’s Pizza parking lot, located at 301 S. Thornton St.
Participants will walk/bike from Thornton Street, turn left on Vaughan St., left on Cherokee St. and then head two blocks straight to Vian Public Schools.
Parents/guardians must accompany children and together, they will walk/bike to the school together.
Regular walkers are also welcome to join in and walk with everyone, or take their regular route.
Water and healthy snacks will be provided at each event by TSET Healthy Living Program of Sequoyah County. Staff will be present, along with sponsors of the event.
Webbers Falls School held their event on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
