Pirates lose second straight district game, fall to Panama

PANAMA — The Gore Pirates suffered their second straight District A-8 defeat, losing 28-8 to the host Panama Razorbacks on Thursday night at George Ollie Stadium.

The lone score for the Pirates (6-2 overall, 3-2 in district play) came with 3:48 left before halftime when Tate Brooksher connected with Journey Shells on a 56yard touchdown pass. Brooksher then ran in the two-point conversion.

Brooksher was Gore’s leading rusher (68 yards) and passer (122 yards and a TD), while Shells caught six passes for 94 yards and the lone touchdown for the Pirates.

Defensively, Caden Cowan had a whopping 21 tackles, 10 solo, to lead the Pirates.
