Funeral services for Charles Bradley Floyd, 91, were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond. Interment was held at 3 p.m. at Akins Cemetery in Sallisaw.
Mr. Floyd was born on Feb. 20, 1932, in Earlsboro, to Bessie Watson Floyd and Carl Bradley Floyd. He died on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023.
He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School, Seminole, in 1949. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1949-53. His service included a significant role in the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War, earning him the esteemed title of one of “The Chosin Few.” After his military service, he dedicated over 50 years to the oil and gas sales industry.
He married Ella Cotton on Dec. 31, 1951, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Survivors are his children, Glen, Cheryl and Steve; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara F. Moore; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Voelker-Sargent; and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ella, his siblings Bayne, Wayne, Glendon, and Cleatus; and daughter-in-law Anabel.
