Funeral services for Larry Wayne “Bud” Underwood Jr., 60, of Dyer, Ark., were held at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was at 1 p.m. at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark., under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Underwood was born on Jan. 2, 1963, in Fort Smith to Larry Wayne Underwood Sr. and La-Faye (Mendenhall) Hatley. He died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, in Oklahoma City.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. He worked for Wilson Heat and Air and as an accountant. He enjoyed riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his wife, Debroah Underwood; one daughter, Laresa Underwood of California; one sister, Sherry and Jim Gotham of Sapulpa; three brothers, Terry and Jeana Underwood of Sallisaw, Bill and Jenie Underwood of Owasso and Ronnie and Becky Hatley Jr. of Dyer; mother and stepfather, LaFaye and Ronnie Hatley Sr. of Fort Smith; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father. Pallbearers were Terry Underwood, Bill Underwood, Ronnie Hatley Sr., Ronnie Hatley Jr., Lester Nuckrolls and Jim Gotham.
