Funeral services for Ruth Henry Wilson, 84, were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023, at the Friends Church of Plains, with burial following in the Plains Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilson was born on Feb. 1, 1939, in Gans to Truman and Lesola (Woodruff) Henry. She died on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, in Meade, Kan.
She attended school at Gans and Sallisaw, and later attended Seward County Community College and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma Panhandle State University. She received her Master of Education degree from Kansas State University. She was a schoolteacher for 29 years, having taught junior high English and fourth grade.
She married Don Wilson on Jan. 16, 1957, in Sallisaw.
Survivors include her husband, Don; two sons, Phillip Wilson and Deb of Plains and Stephen Wilson of McPherson, Kan.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, William H. “Bill” Henry.
