Just after 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, the westbound lane of I-40 at mile marker 295 was completely shut down due to a semi that had overturned and caught fire, leaking diesel. Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported all westbound traffic was diverted onto US-64 to get around the area while the accident site was cleaned up. The interstate opened completely back up around 3:15 p.m., nine hours and 42 minutes after the accident occurred.
