HENRYETTA — The Webbers Falls Lady Warriors finished fourth in last week’s Wilson Tiger Classic as they lost the third-place game 48-29 to the host Wilson (Henryetta) Lady Tigers on Saturday.
The Lady Warriors lost their semifinal contest Thursday afternoon to Summit Christian 5924 after they opened the tournament with a 3734 victory over Schulter on Dec. 5.
The Warriors won the consolation title with a 45-29 victory over Schulter on Saturday afternoon. After opening the tournament with a 60-47 loss to Weleetka on Dec. 5, the Warriors bounced back with a consolation semifinal 61-21 rout of Epic on Friday.
In the girls’ thirdplace game, the Lady Warriors (3-2) jumped out to a 12-6 lead after one quarter, but the Lady Tigers caught theta 18all at halftime and then went on to outscored the Lady Warriors 29-11 in the second half to get the come-from-behind win.
In defeat, Teralynn Colston led Webbers Falls with 13 points, followed by Abby Pense with six points, Bridgette Baer with five points, Cheyanne Herrier with three points and Lextyn Chappell with two points.
In the girls’ loss to Summit Christian, the Lady Warriors fell behind 14-14 after a quarter and trailed 32-8 at halftime.
In defeat, Colston led Webbers Falls with eight points, followed by Pense with seven points, Bailey Ward with three points and Herrier, Chappell and Laina Colston with two points each.
In the girls’ win over Schulter, the Lady Warriors jumped out to an 8-6 lead after a quarter, which became a 19-14 halftime advantage and a 31-22 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Bulldogs refused to go away as they outscored the Lady Warriors 12-6 in the final period, but Schulter’s rally came up short.
Colston scored a game-high 14 points and Baer added 13 points to lead Webbers Falls, followed by Pense with eight points and Herrier with two points.
In the boys’ consolation championship game, the Warriors (32) led 13-10 after a period and 26-17 at halftime, but the Bulldogs doubled them up 8-4 in the third quarter to cut their deficit to 30-25 entering the final period. However, the Warriors put away the game with a 15-4 fourth quarter to win going away.
For the game, Luke Pierce scored a gamehigh 13 points and Maddux Shelby added 11 points to lead Webbers Falls, followed by Braydan Robinson with eight points, Caleb Dishman with four points, Stryker Chappell with three points and Eli Heflin, Denver Morgan and Elliot Kunzel with two points apiece.
In the boys’ consolation semifinal victory over Epic, the Warriors jumped out to a 14-4 lead after a quarter, which became a 32-13 halftime advantage and a 46-15 lead entering the final period.
For the game, Stryker scored a game-high 19 points, followed by Shelby Maddux with 12 points, Dishman with eight points, Heflin with six points, Morgan and Blake Rowe with five points each and Robinson and Gunner Shelby with two points apiece.
In the boys’ loss to Weleetka, the Outlaws jumped out to a 25-15 lead after the first eight minutes, but the Warriors (1-2) bounced back with a 13-6 second quarter to cut the deficit to 31-28 at halftime. However, Weleetka outscored Webbers Falls 29-19 in the second half to seal the deal.
In defeat, Chappell led Webbers Falls with 24 points, followed by Maddux Shelby with 11 points, Dishman with eight points and Morgan and Pierce with two points apiece.
Colston and Baer made the girls’ all-tournament team, while Chappell made the boys’ all-tournament team.
