Wagoner – Funeral services for William Wade “Bill” Goombi Sr., 75, of Wagoner, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at the Agent & Mallory-Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial was at Bush Cemetery in Marble City under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mr. Goombi was born on July 22, 1948, in Mountain View to Robert Goombi and Bessie (Archambeau) Goombi. He died on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, in Muskogee.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, 1969-70, B Battery 1st Battalion, 15th Artillery, a chaplain for the UAW Union and a float control operator at Ford Glass Plant in Tulsa.
He married Juanita Faye Bigfeather on Jan. 4, 1968, in Fort Smith, Ark. She preceded him in death on June 21, 2023.
Survivors include one daughter, Trina and Jason Adams of Tulsa; three sisters, Frances Tsoodle of Albuquerque, N.M., Irene Johnson of Lawton and Katie Goombi of Mountain View; two brothers, Wes Goombi of Mountain View and James Goombi of Broken Arrow; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, William “Billy” Goombi Jr.; and two brothers, Lloyd Goombi and Robert Goombi Jr.
Pallbearers were Stallen Goombi, Jason Adams, Kyler Adams, Brian Bigfeather, Jerry Bigfeather, Darien Roberts and Robert Bigfeather.
