Sallisaw – A Celebration of Life ceremony for David F. Johnson, 74, of Sallisaw, was held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, at the VFW Post 4518 in Sallisaw.

Cremation was under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born on Dec. 17, 1949, in Sallisaw to William Jefferson Johnson and Margie (Stevenson) Johnson. He died on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023, in Tulsa.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked at a Tactical Officer on P3.

He married Juanita Newberry on Aug. 11, 1969, in Sallisaw. She preceded him in death on Feb. 20, 2021.

Survivors include three daughters, Jody Dutton of Palm Coast, Fla., Shannon Johnson of Lebanon, Pa., and Samantha Hamm of Jacksonville, Fla.; his mother, of Sallisaw; four grandchildren; his companion, Jessie Littledeer of Sallisaw; and other family members and friends.

He was also preceded in death by his father; and one granddaughter.
