Gore – Karen Sue Gilstrap, 86, of Gore, died on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023. She was born on Feb. 18, 1937, in Eureka Springs, Ark. to Robert Roy and Bernice I. (Ketner) Fuller.
No formal service is planned. Arrangements were under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home of Muskogee.
She was married to Alva E. Gilstrap on July 9, 1960.
She earned her master’s degree, working as an elementary school teacher for many years, and retired from Gum Springs Public Schools. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening.
Survivors are her children, Bo Gilstrap, Amy and husband John Bruce, and Susan Gilstrap all of Gore; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Clark of independence, Mo.; brother, Robert R. Fuller Jr. of Sallisaw; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws, Robert Roy and Bernice I. Fuller; husband of 56 years, Alva Gilstrap; sister, Darlene Girty; niece, Dannette Fletcher; and grandson, Wyatt D. Bruce.
