Funeral services for Clyde Buttery, 84, of Vian, will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Sellers Mission Cemetery at Park Hill, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Buttery was born on Aug. 8, 1939, in Vian, to Bill Buttery and Pearl (Hougland) Buttery. He died on Jan. 4, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He was married to Liddy (Bowline) Buttery on June 9, 2001, in Eureka Springs, Ark.
He was a construction worker and general laborer.
Survivors are his wife, Liddy of the home; three daughters, Pamela Fairfield of Gore, Cailey Garretson and Jordan of Broken Arrow, and Jamicia Smith and Nick of Tahlequah; two grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Shores and Sonny of Tahlequah, Anna Mae Gifford and Charles, and Shirley Dixon, all of Crescent City, Calif.; and several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth Chisum Buttery; two sons, Dennis Buttery and Barry Buttery Sr.; five brothers, Talmage, Learnold “Joe,” Delbert, Delmar and Bart Buttery; and three sisters, Wanda Johnson, Norma Jean Buttery and Pamela Buttery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Smith, Jordan Garretson, Joseph Fairfield, Zeberiah Fairfield, Dilyn Thompson and Xaviar McHenry.
Honorary pallbearers will be TyShawn Olive and Barry Buttery Jr.
