Gore wrestlers place in last weekend’s Hilldale Tournament

MUSKOGEE — Several Gore high school and junior high wrestlers placed in last weekend’s Hilldale Tournament.

In the high school division, Kaydin McCartney was fourth as he went 2-2, while Antonio Parker went 3-2 but just missed out placing.

In the junior high division, Jayden Gates was the 140-pound champion.

“He wrestled extremely well,” Gore coach Matt Hawkins said about his champion.

Julian Madrid was third at 132 pounds. The Gore matmen will compete in a triangular against Van Buren, Ark., and Poteau on Thursday at Poteau High School’s Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse.
