WESTVILLE — The Vian High School basketball teams split their road games Jan. 9 at Westville.
The Wolverines ended the night with a 54-39 win over the Yellowjackets, but the Lady Yellowjackets stung the Lady Wolverines 37-33 in the opener.
In the boys’ game, Yonsi Grass led the Wolverines (4-5) with 26 points, followed by Masyn Wright and Dante Glass with 11 points each, Trace Sanders with four points and Ethan Pollock with two points.
In defeat, Avery Wright scored 13 points to lead the Lady Wolverines (1-8), followed by Halli Russell with eight points, Skyelar Locust with six points, Rebel Simon with four points and Kala Gibbins with two points.
The Vian teams got swept by Keys on Friday night at Park Hill as the Wolverines lost 82-49 after the Lady Wolverines fell 49-24.
In the boys’ game, Grass scored 18 points and Wright added 13 points. Joe O’Neil had nine points, followed by Cash Collins with four points, Sanders with three points and Pollock with two points.
In the girls’ game, Russell led Vian with seven points, followed by Wright with five points, Locust with three points, Simon, Gibbons, Rayleigh Terrill with two points each and Shelbie Glass with a free throw.
