An Active Shooter Prevention Training will be hosted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 27, by Vian Assembly of God church.
The event will include eight hours of specialized training from MXP (Ministerial Executive Protection) at no cost to the public, but a love offering will be received to support the ministry.
The training is for churches, church members (men and women), and even those who may not be a part of a security team. This is great training for churches, schools and businesses. The focus is on church security, but any business owners/school employees/ police and those in the general public, are invited to attend.
The event will educate those in attendance by teaching them to identify and prevent attacks before they happen, and how to save lives in case of an attack.
“It’s unfortunate that we live in such an evil world where our communities and churches have become targets of violence. We pray that we never see violence in our community, but if it does, we will be ready. We want to help our community be as safe as it can be, especially the churches,” Pastor John Bennett said.
The church is located at 200 E. Schley Street in Vian.
Those in attendance will receive a certificate for the training received.
