DEWAR — The Vian Wolverines wrestling team officially lost a 3630 dual to the host Dewar Dragons on Thursday night, but all the matches wrestled were won by the Wolverines.
All five matches contested all ended the same way — with a Vian wrestler winning by pinfall. Adolf Stahl (126 pounds), Gunner Richey (144), Lane Jameson (190), Garritt Hunt (215) and Clay Clark (heavyweight) all pinned their Dewar opponent.
As for the Lady Wolverines, high school wrestler Carissa Prock and junior high wrestler Maddison Turman each won their exhibition matches by pinfall.
The Lady Wolverines high school wrestlers were slated to compete in the Class 5A Regional Tournament on Tuesday at Okmulgee with Dewar as the host school with the hopes of qualifying individually for the Class 5A State Tournament, which will take place Feb. 22-24 at Oklahoma City’s Jim Norick State Fair Arena.
The Wolverines high school wrestlers as well as the Gore Pirates will be in the Class 3A Regional Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Vinita.
