BETHANY — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Kacie Gibbins and the Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns lost two of three Great American Conference to Southern Nazarene on Friday and Saturday.
The Golden Suns (94) won their lone game of the three-game series in Saturday’s opener by a score of 7-5 before losing the nightcap 8-0 in five innings. Game 1 also went to SNU, which won 9-1 in a five-inning game.
In the ATU win, Gibbins was 1-for-2 while going 0-for-2 in Saturday’s nightcap.
In the Game 1 loss on Friday, Gibbins went 1-for-2.
So far through 13 games, Gibbins is batting .200 with five hits, with two doubles, two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Gibbins and ATU will return to action Friday through Saturday as they will entertain Henderson State for a threegame series, with Game 1 at 5 p.m. Friday and the series-ending twinbill at noon Saturday at Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville, Ark., before welcoming Pittsburg State for a 2 p.m. Tuesday twinbill at Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex.
