Former Vian Wolverine softball player Greenlee Wells and the Eastern Oklahoma State University Lady Mountaineers won three of four games last week.
The Lady Mountaineers swept Labette Community College on Feb. 20 by identical 8-0 scores in games that each reached run-rule status after five innings.
In the Grayson Round Robin Tournament on Friday in Denison, Texas, the Lady Mountaineers defeated Tyler (Texas) Junior College 10-7 but lost 8-4 to San Jacinto College South.
In the opener against Labette, Wells went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs batted in and two runs scored.
In the nightcap against Labette, Wells went 1-for-2 with another homer, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Through eight games this season, Wells is batting .480 with five homers, 14 RBIs and nine runs scored.
There was no additional information on Friday’s games by press time.
The Lady Mountaineers were slated to return to action Tuesday afternoon for a home twinbill against Paris (Texas) Junior College, then travel Thursday to Neosho, Mo., to meet Crowder College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
Friday through Saturday, EOSC will play in the Drury (Mo.) JUCO Classic in Springfield, Mo. The Lady Mountaineers will face Allen County Community College at 10 a.m. and State Fair Community College at 2:30 p.m. Friday and Southeastern Community College at 11:30 a.m. and Neosho County Community College at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
