ARKADELPHIA, Ark. — Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Kacie Gibbins helped her Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns take 2-of-3 road games against Ouachita Baptist University — winning Saturday’s doubleheader 8-5 in 10 innings and 4-0, but losing Sunday afternoon’s series finale 2-0.
In Saturday’s opener against Ouachita Baptist, Gibbins was hitless in three at-bats but got one base once via a base on balls, while she had a pinch-hit appearance in the nightcap in which she got on base via walk.
In Sunday’s loss to Ouachita Baptist, Gibbins was hitless in three at-bats.
Through 21 games, Gibbins is batting .225 with three doubles, four runs batted in and a stolen base.
The Golden Suns (138 overall, 5-4 in Great American Conference play) were slated to welcome Harding University to Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex for a Tuesday afternoon doubleheader, then welcome Northwestern Oklahoma State University to town for a three-game series beginning with a 2 p.m. twinbill Friday and a single 11 a.m. game on Saturday.
