The Gore Lady Pirates split their two home games last week, beating Gans 10-5 on March 11, then losing 11-1 to Vian on March 12.
The Lady Pirates had their Thursday afternoon home game against Webbers Falls rained out.
In the win over Gans, the Lady Pirates (4-1) rallied from a 3-2 deficit by scoring once in the third inning to tie the game at 3-all, then took the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning and a four-run sixth inning to take a 10-3 lead into the seventh inning.
For the game, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, three runs scored and two runs batted in, Paige Curran was 2-for-3 with two home runs and four RBIs and Kendra Huckbay tripled with an RBI and a run scored for the Gore JV. Huckbay got the win.
In the loss to Vian, the Lady Wolverines scored twice in the first inning and once in the third inning for a 3-0 lead. After the Lady Pirates, who lost for the first time this season, scored once in the fourth inning on Paige Curran’s RBI double to cut the deficit to 3-1 after four innings, Vian put the game into run-rule status with a five-run fifth inning and a three-run sixth inning.
In defeat, Daily was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Curran hit an RBI double and Cheyenne Davidson and Keira Rowe each singled for Gore.
The Lady Pirates will idle until 4:30 p.m. Monday when they will entertain the Webbers Falls Lady Warriors.
