Former Vian softball player, ATU Golden Suns lose two of three games to SWOSU

WEATHERFORD — Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Kacie Gibbins and her Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns lost two of three games last weekend to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

The Lady Bulldogs took the first two games on Friday by scores of 2-0 and 3-0, but the Golden Suns salvaged the series with a 3-1 victory on Saturday.

Gibbins did not play in Saturday’s game or Friday’s nightcap, but she did play in Game 1 on Friday in which she was hitless in three atbats.

The Golden Suns (1712 overall, 9-8 in Great American Conference play) were slated to return to action in a road doubleheader Tuesday afternoon against Delta State in Cleveland, Miss., before returning to GAC action with a three-game road series at Arkansas-Monticello with games at 2 p.m. Thursday and a noon doubleheader on Friday.
