Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Greenlee Wells and her Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers went 4-2 last week.
The week started with a road split against Murray State College on April 2 at Tishomingo’s Johnston County Sports Complex as the Lady Mountaineers took the nightcap 19-2 after losing 7-4 in the opener.
On Thursday at home, EOSC swept Rose State College by scores of 1-0 and 9-1, then split a Saturday home twinbill with Seminole State College as the Lady Mountaineers took the nightcap 5-3 after losing the opener 4-1.
In the DH with Murray State, Wells was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored, while going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs in the opener. In the Rose State games, Wells was hitless in three at-bats in the opener, while having an RBI and a run scored in the nightcap.
In Saturday’s contests against Seminole State, Wells was hitless in three at-bats with a walk in Game 1, but had an RBI in Game 2.
Through 32 games, Wells is hitting .480 with seven doubles, 18 home runs, 51 RBIs and 38 runs scored.
The Lady Mountaineers (20-12) were slated to face their archrivals, the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings, in a Tuesday doubleheader in Poteau, then return to action with a 2 p.m. Thursday road twinbill against Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in Miami, followed by a 1 p.m. Saturday home DH against Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in Wilburton. Next week, EOSC will play a 1 p.m. Tuesday home doubleheader against the Southern Nazarene University junior varsity.
