HEAVENER — Four local track athletes placed in the Heavener Invitational, which took place April 2 at Harvey Stadium.
The lone Vian athlete to place was Tina Rautenberg as she was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.77 seconds).
Three Webbers Falls tracksters placed in the meet. On the boys’ side, Maddux Shelby was sixth in the 200-meter dash (24.67 seconds).
On the girls’ side for the Lady Warriors, Cheyenne Herrier was fourth in the 3,200-meter run (14:29), while Bridgette Baer was sixth in the long jump (13-5).
The Vian track teams were slated to be joined by Central’s and Gore’s squads at Friday’s Hilldale Invitational in Muskogee, while the Webbers Falls track teams were not slated to return to action until Tuesday’s Warner Invitational.
The Gore track teams were slated to hit the oval in Tuesday’s Okemah Invitational.
On Thursday, Central’s, Vian’s, Gore’s and Webbers Falls’ track teams will run at the Checotah Invitational, which will begin at 10 a.m. at Checotah’s Ogle Field, then the Central tracksters will compete at the Coweta Invitational at 10 a.m. Friday.
