Innocence
By Pastor Michael Martin vian_,

Genesis 2:9 “And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.” How happy we were in our innocence as children. We ran, played. We did we thoughts. Our world changed when we tasted the fruit of good Church and evil. It always does. No man or woman can resist the temptation and allure of wickedness. There is certainly a time, normally introduced by others that are older than we are, that we find the world of wicked pleasure. Wicked pleasure does not necessarily mean some wicked perversion. It means simply doing those things that are forbidden by the Creator.

You see, wickedness can simply be morally wrong. Moral concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character. Psalms 37:27 “Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.”

Now evil is a different breed of cat, as my old grandmother used to say. Evil is profoundly immoral and wicked thoughts or actions. Let me try to explain. Wickedness is condemned pleasure that our mind might not associate with wrongdoing. We are attracted to many things that are not Godly, yet in doing those things we are not conscious of wrong doing. John 4:22 “Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.” We replace God in our lives and supplant His place in our hearts by emphasizing something else.

Most hunters won’t admit it, but they worship hunting. The plan their hunt. They put out feeders to attract their prey. They build tree stands and blinds to shoot from. They mount trail cameras everywhere to see where their prey moves and feeds. They spend much more time thinking and planning their next hunt than they give to thoughts of eternal life.

Again, there is outwardly nothing wrong with hunting. Inwardly, though, you are trying to fill a place that God has reserved for Himself. This is morally wrong or wicked.

Evil is profoundly immoral and wicked thoughts. It is planning for wrong and introducing it to others to consume. There is an evilness in the world that was given by the enemy of God to pervert the creation of God. As soon as that evil is introduced into our lives we lose our innocence and we are no longer Gods child.

Here is how the Apostle Paul described a man: Acts 13:10 “And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?”

Subtility is cunning, craftiness. Planned disobedience that wants to involve others. Mischief is harm or trouble caused by someone or something. Then Paul boldly describes those types of persons as a “child of the devil”, an enemy of righteousness.

As I said before, Gods enemy wants to pervert God creation and through “cunning craftiness” he is succeeding. Do you really think a child of five years old can make life long decisions? Do you really believe he or she might see what their little choices might bring into their world?

God declares: Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” It is Parenting 101. It is seeing what is in the best interest of the child and correcting wrong thoughts or behaviors. A fantasy world is not to be encouraged because it does not benefit the child in later life. The cunning and craftiness of the devil is very evident in todays world. Also is the absence of the teaching of a Holy God that wants only the best for us. God created us innocent and pure. The devil from the time of the Garden of Eden wants to corrupt and defile Gods creation.

In our world, the tail is wagging the dog. The majority is silenced while the minority is elevated to a standard of worship reserved for God.

The stupidity of it all is seen by all, but through cunning and craftiness, the devil forces us to comply as he controls the thoughts of many, many people who honestly “think” they are doing good. Our educational system “thinks” it is good to be all inclusive, but they are introducing evil into the minds of our children and stealing their innocence at earlier and earlier ages. It started with “simple” sex education in the 1980’s, although the roots of the movement can be tracked back as far as 1863 when first discussed.

Now let me tell you something that ou might have trouble believing uness you study it well. The devil plays the long game. He is an eternal being and does not need to have instant results. His cunning and craftiness introduces ideas and are rejected by the majority, but puts a bug into the ear of the minority. The minority keeps the idea alive for years before the “time is right” to implement it. That idea simmered on the back burner until the 1920 s when that American Medical Association brought it up again after a 1920’s epidemic of sexual transmitted diseases hit American. They introduced it into 11th and 12th grades in public schools.

Now it begins as early as 4th and 5th grades. Twenty-five states have made it a mandatory part of the curriculum and I have even heard that they introduce it in the 3rd grade. They are stealing the innocence of children at younger and younger ages. The wickedness and evil of the transexual movement is being forced into school by “well meaning” people who are being duped by the devil to believe that males can identify as females, etc.

Cunning and craftiness are attributed by Paul as the mystery of iniquity. 2Thessalonians 2:7 “For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.” The word “letteth” means to hinder, so the Holy Spirit that has His abode in us should hinder evil every chance it gets. We who know the truth cannot be silent or we are “quenching” the Holy Spirit, llhessalonians 5:19 “Quench not the Spirit.”

Those who know right need to stand up and protect the right of our children to be innocent for as long as they can. The age of accountability comes far too young as it is. They lose the image of God far too early in these days. Like the old song tells us, “Stand up, stand up for Jesus! Ye soldiers of the cross!”
