The Gore Lady Pirates suffered a 15-2 road loss to the Vian Lady Wolverines on April 8, then fell 14-5 at Crowder on Friday.
In the loss to Vian, the Lady Wolverines scored five runs in the first inning and 10 runs in the second to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Sophie O’Connor doubled and Paige Curran hit a tworun home run in the third inning for the only runs of the game for the Lady Pirates (9-9).
In the loss to Crowder, the Demonettes broke a scoreless tie with a sixrun third inning. After the Lady Pirates cut their deficit to 6-5 in the fourth inning, the Demonettes scored five runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth inning to put the game into run-rule status.
In defeat, Kendra Huckbay was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs batted in and a run scored, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and River Shoemake was 2-for-2 for Gore.
After playing at Okay on Monday and at Roland on Tuesday, the Lady Pirates will begin postseason play in the Class 3A District Tournament today at Porum with a 11:20 a.m. game against Wright City. If the Lady Pirates win the district tournament today, they will play in next week’s Class 3A Regional Tournament at a site and times to be determined next week.
