The Webbers Falls Warriors finished third in the 2024 Riverside Conference Tournament after blanking Mc-Curtain 8-0 on Friday afternoon in Porum.
Thursday in Gore, the Warriors defeated Arkoma 10-2 in the open-ing round, but then lost 7-1 to the host Pirates in the championship semifinals.
The week started with a 9-8 victory over Okay on April 8 at Eual Carter Sports Complex in Webbers Falls, but their road game at Gore was rained out April 9 and Saturday’s home game against Porter Consolidated was canceled.
In the third-place game, Brutus Robinson (6-0) threw a no-hitter with seven strikeouts in four innings.
The Warriors (157) scored three runs in each of the first two innings, then scored twice in the fourth inning to put the game into runrule status.
For the contest, Braydan Robinson was 3-for-3 with a double, four RBIs and a run scored, Brutus Robinson was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Maddux Shelby doubled with two RBIs and three runs scored for Webbers Falls.
In the semifinal loss to Gore, Gore starting pitcher Tate Brooksher threw a two-hitter with 10 Ks.
The Pirates rallied from a 1-0 first-inning deficit with a three-run second inning and a four-run fifth inning.
In defeat, Shelby doubled and Braydan Robinson signed with an RBI for the Warriors.
Stryker Chappell (32) suffered the loss, despite striking out three batters but allowing seven runs, six of which were earned, on nine hits.
In the opening-round win over Arkoma, after the Mustangs cut their deficit to 3-2 in the fourth inning, the Warriors erupted for seven runs in the fourth inning to put the game into run-rule status.
For the contest, Brutus Robinson was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored, Shelby was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Braydan Robinson and Ethan Carey were each 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored for the Warriors.
Braydan Robinson (4-0) got the win, going all four innings with five strikeouts and throwing a one-hitter.
In the home win over Okay to begin the week, Ben Ward’s walk-off, RBI single with two outs in the seventh inning was the game-winner.
For the contest, Ward was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in for the Warriors.
Brutus Robinson got the win, pitching a scoreless seventh inning to set up Ward’s heroics in the home half of the frame. Ward got the start and went the first three innings with three strikeouts. Braydan Robinson went the next three innings with three Ks.
After playing at Canadian on Monday and entertaining Gans on Tuesday, the Warriors will enter postseason play in the Class A District Tournament on Thursday at Drumright with a noon game against Liberty, then a 2 p.m. game against host Drumright. The title game is slated for noon Friday with the if-game at 2 p.m. If the Warriors win the district tournament, they will play in the Class A Regional Tournament at a site and time to be determined next week.
