Former Vian softball player, Arkansas Tech get Sunday sweep over Southeastern OK State to make GAC Tournament

Former Vian Lady Wolverine softball player Kacie Gibbins and her Arkansas Tech University Golden Suns earned a berth into the 2024 Great American Conference Tournament by sweeping a pair of games from Southeastern Oklahoma State University by scores of 1-0 and 7-2 Sunday afternoon at Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville, Ark.

Gibbins did not play in either game for the Golden Suns (24-17 overall, 16-13 in GAC play).

The same two teams were slated to finish their series on Monday.

On April 16, the Golden Suns fell 4-1 to Harding University in Search, Ark., in which Gibbins doubled in two at-bats.

Tuesday’s home doubleheader against Cameron was canceled, so the next action for the Golden Suns will be a home weekend series Friday against Oklahoma Baptist University.
